Restoration of Holiness
“For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified”
The most serious problem that this society has is the fact that God has been excluded from all areas of society, such as politics, economics, culture and education.
For countless years history has tried to exclude the existence of God from human life. In particular, by excluding the existence of God from the realm of education, the human-centered life, or humanistic thought, has completely obliterated God from our lives.
As a result, human-centered life has caused serious spiritual problems, resulting in the destruction of serious spiritual order. Many of the phenomena that occur in the process of transforming into a human-centered world are emerging as follows:
A thorough individualistic society has broken down the community. Today, the sense of community is getting slimmer. This individualism, with all the world moving around me, is making society an increasingly heartless, arid desert. This individualism destroyed the sense of community.
It also became a society where material became an idol.
Along with individualism, the human-centered life has created materialism in order to meet the requirements of happiness, as individual pursuit of happiness is the highest priority. People can't see neighbors because only personal happiness is the most important conce. People
can't see the community. Instead, the material looks more valuable and it excludes neighbors and replaces them.
Eventually, these human-centered thinking causes material-oriented thinking, all in the form of pleasure-seeking. Individualism gave rise to materialism and hedonism. Pleasure, after all, talks of one's own gratification. The extreme self-centered thinking that only I can live well, eat well and be happy is the phenomenon in this society today.
So far, we have seen the phenomenon when God has been moved away from the center of our lives and became the center of our lives. Soon individualism and materialism and hedonism dominate our thoughts and lives.
The result has caused destruction, as has already been proven through numerous cases in history. A human-centered life has cut off this society from its community.
It brought about the dissolution of the family and the dissolution of the community, resulting in the dissolution of society and the dissolution of the state. The so-called “life together” has been transformed into a life of my own Holo(Solo) . No conversation. Only his own world exists.
In these serious societal problems, how can we find the solution to restore this broken world? The only answer to fix the distorted truth is that we’ve got to seek for the restoration of Holiness in our lives, and community.
Holiness should be restored in all areas of our lives. And Holiness means distinction or consecration. By being consecrated out of this world, we can be pure and holy in the presence of God.
We are those who belong to this world, at the same time, those who belong to Heaven as well. Just because we belong to heaven doesn't mean that we should separate ourselves from this world and live as a hermit. It is important that we should be holy or goldly, which is distinguished in all our attitudes and words.
Our families, churches and the schools and companies should be the place, where God will be the king and Master's will should be revealed. To this end, senior citizens who have led and are leading this society must first stand before God and lead a distinct life that reveals God's holiness. The fear of God and obedience must first appear concretely in their lives. Jesus also prayed for his last disciples.
14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified
John 17:14-19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
19 For their sake [a]I sanctify Myself [to do Your will], so that they also may be sanctified [set apart, dedicated, made holy] in [Your] truth.
Jesus never gave up on this world. (v.15) He trained his disciples to tu the world into a realm of God's Rule, to transform it into a world of spiritual forces. The most important thing is that Jesus himself lived a holy life to train his disciples as a spiritual force to win the world. (.v.19)
The most feared and challenging value of today's world is Holiness. That is distinguished life, living in the light, refusing to live in impurity, and compromise with this world.
Being Holy or consecrated, after all, is not a simple process, but a lifelong process formed in the words of God and in the fellowship of God for many years.
In the end, the task our children must bear to maintain their holy spirit, intelligence, character and health is to restore and maintain this holiness. The absence of a true leader today means that holiness is gone. We will all agree that our mission in the church is to restore the holy life that is distinguished before God.
We should should pass on this consecrated lives to our children. In 2 Timothy 1:5-7 , Paul testifies that it was a long-standing training from his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice.
2 Timothy 1:5-7 The Message (MSG)
5-7 That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith—and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you! And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.
We must pass on our faith to the next generation.
We must be aware that we are responsible for bringing back faith to the next generation. So, in order for this Korean society to continue to pass on faith to the next generation, we will have to do our best to maintain this precious value, Holiness and continue to lead to the next generation.
Every day our children will lea through our consecrated lives in our daily lives, where God's words become the core value of our thoughts and standards and obey God's will. Because we can live a holy life through the word of God and prayer.
