The Life of Resting in God

Psalms 95:7-8

"If you hear the voice of God today, do not make your heart weak." "We bent down and worshiped the Lord, who made us, and kneeled before him, because he is our God, and we are his people, and his hands are on his people."

God granted us eternal life through Jesus Christ. Eternal life means to receive Christ and the unshakable kingdom of God as an inheritance. It is now a blessed life in which we receive and enjoy the kingdom of God as an inheritance among the places of our lives.  God gives precious gifts to those who believe in Jesus Christ that the world cannot give. That is the Sabbath that is given to us through Jesus Christ. The word Sabbath refers to rest and the greatest blessing is to have a true rest in God.  Psalm 95:7-8 says, "If you hear the voice of God today, do not make your heart hard." "We bent down and worshiped the Lord, who made us, and kneeled before him, because he is our God, and we are his people, and his hands are his people."  God called the people of Israel out of Egypt, crossed the Red Sea, and made them dwell in the desert. There were only two people, Joshua and Caleb who had entered the land promised in Canaan. All the Israelites who had been in exile in the desert for forty years ended up dying there.  In the book of Hebrews Chapters 3 and 4, today we talk about the people of Israel who have wandered about in the desert for 40 years and have not been able to enter the Promised Land. Failure to enter the land of promise means that they have not obtained the rest that God promised.  "If you hear his voice today, do not harden your heart as if you were rebelling on the day of testing in the desert." (Hebrews 3:7-8) God says that the people of Israel, who were not obedient in the desert, have wandered around for forty years, and have not entered the land of his promise; because they did not obey God.  God spoke to the people of Israel, who were not able to rest at that time: "I am angry with this generation and He says, 'They are always bewildered and do not know my way.' Soon, their disobedience prevented them from entering my rest.” I think this applies to us who live today, because of our disobedience, which is why we do not enjoy God's peace and wander around in this world. When we hear the word of God, we are to obey God’s voice and enter into His rest.  Imagine how many people are seduced into the world, keeping away from God's way and going the way they want. Isn't this the attitude of the disobedient Israeli people who have wandered in the desert for 40 years? Does not our hearts also become enchanted by the world and not follow the path of God? This disobedience is the greatest reason why we do not enjoy the rest of His promised life.  God once again gives us the opportunity to obey in order to get rest at this very moment. "When you hear his voice today, don't harden your heart.”
This is to listen to God's voice and obey him. What is gratifying is that the Sabbath of God remains with those who obey him today.  He who goes into God's rest is given his work, just as God rests in His work. It is to live a life of obedience to the word of God that is soon to enter into the rest of God. A life in the word of God, a life of obedience to the word of God, is the key and the secret.  "So we will try to enter that rest, so that anyone will not fall into the role of dis obedience." (Hebrews 4:11)  In order for us to enter God's rest, we must listen to God's living words every day and obey his words. In chapters 3 and 4, the Hebrew author, who is talking about "resting," says that God's word should appeal to us every day and be obeyed.   Hebrews 4
12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. In the end, we must obey God's will in order to enjoy the true rest of God. The will of God is known through his daily meditations and revelation from his words. To meditate on the word of the Lord every day and obey his words is the right way to God's rest.  The people of God who live in God's rest today may say: "Come, we will sing to the Lord and cheerfully shout to the Rock of our salvation. Let's go before him with thanksgiving and write a poem and sing to him joyfully. “Psalm 95:1-3 He who lives in God's rest can live a life of praise for God's creation and praise his greatness day by day. The life of God the Creator is our eternal state, a blessed life in God's rest. A life of obedience to God, who is the master of all the earth and the Creator of all things, means a life of rest.  Today, the life of obedience to God, who is the master of all things and the Creator, is the life of true rest. Submissiveness means living according to God's will. Through God’s words we can understand the will of God day by day. And today, again the life of the obedient, is in the life of God's rest.
