The Kingdom of God is within you!
Luke 17:20-22 (NIV)
20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.
Many Christians do not understand the present reality of the kingdom of God. In the same way that the Pharisees thought of the Kingdom of God, many Christians today are still looking for the Kingdom of God as a future event.
At that time, the Pharisees expected a coming Messiah who with His Mighty Power would restore the nation to God's Sovereign Reign from the bondage the Roman Empire. Jesus, knowing they had this in mind when they asked about the Kingdom of God, answered saying that the Kingdom of God is within you.
Jesus talks about the Kingdom of God as something they cannot see unless they are born again Christians. That's the reason why Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of God using parables as in Matthew 13:10, 11. When the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”11 Jesus replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.” And Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of God as a Mustard Seed and Yeast—meaning things that you cannot see physically or literally because the spiritual reality of the Kingdom of God is only grasped by those who are obeying Jesus Christ as their Master and Lord.
You should understand that the Kingdom of God has been given to those who are born again as His disciples. That's why Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of God as something we could purchase with all our wealth since it is a hidden treasure and a pearl of priceless value. You should know that the Kingdom of God is the most precious possession in our lives.
When Jesus inaugurated His ministry, He proclaimed the Kingdom of God, saying: "Repent, the Kingdom of God has come." That means to turn from this world’s Satanic allurements and fleshly enticements and seek first the things of God so He may reign in your heart.
In Matthew 6, Jesus taught us how to pray, “Our Father who is in Heaven, Holy be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. . . . For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever Amen.
Let us look more closely at the Lord's prayer. Jesus told us to pray for the Kingdom of God to come, that is, the will of God. Jesus ask us to pray for God's Sovereign Reign to be expanded and His glory through us extended all around the World.
Remember God is mightily controlling all the universe, and He is worthy to be honored and glorified through our lives.
When Jesus told the Pharisees that the Kingdom of God is within you, He spoke about the Kingdom of God as the Present Reality that we can experience Here and Now.
I want to encourage you to develop a kingdom focus. It is important that you come to see the three dimensions of a kingdom reality. When you, as a Christian leader, have that kind of focus, it radically changes how you view yourself, your work, and your world.
You are a kingdom leader! Your great challenge as a Christian is to be leader who is focused on what God is doing in you, through you, and around you. The first and most important thing for a kingdom focused leader to have is a clear understanding of the reality of the kingdom of God.
Please remember that the Kingdom of God is within you! God is ruling over our lives as our King and the Lord. We are to give the rightful Lordship to Jesus as our King and the Lord. What we ought to do is to obey to our Master and follow His will as His Servant as Jesus spoke to us: Your will be done.....
I pray that you can a victorious life by seeking for the
Kingdom of God. Always remember that the Kingdom of God is within us.
