Give us our Daily Bread
Matthew 6 :11
¡°Give us today our daily bread.¡±
God wants us to seek for our daily bread. It is so important to ask God for our needs every single moment. In James, the reason why we are in scarcity is that we do not seek or ask for our needs properly unto the Lord. (James 4:2)
God has given us the privilege to access to Him in every season of our lives once we became His children through Jesus Christ. And we are to receive the an abundant blessing as God¡¯s Kingdom Heir and Leader.
We can ask for everything as long as we seek for His Kingdom with our obedience and surrender for to the Lord.
Then why Jesus taught us to pray for our daily bread instead of many days. Here we may focus on the word ¡°Daily¡±. Why Jesus didn¡¯t teach us to ask for many days of bread. In Exodus, we can see that God granted Manna on a daily basis for the Israelites in the wilderness.
This means that God wants us to depend on Him on a daily basis. So that Jesus said that we should seek for our daily needs. Anxious about something with our own thoughts for tomorrow or for the future that is sin, because this is the sign that we do not depend on God for our needs
Jesus wants us to follow Him one step at a time. He wants us to depend on Him on a daily basis. We are not supposed to worry about tomorrow as long as we walk with the Lord. God is always opening His arms toward His child who is loving loves Him wholeheartedly.
The Lord is our shepherd, He leads us into the river when we are thirsty and He leads us into the green field when we are weary. He is always refreshing our souls as long as we are seeking for His countenance as our shepherd.
God delivered us out of darkness into the light. God rescued us out of eternal condemnation into the eternal blessing through His Son Jesus Christ.
God wants us to depend on Him every single moment with our prayer. He is always willing to provide all our needs as long as we are seeking for Him.
God has everything since He is the creator for with all the resources. And He is willing to provide everything for His children.
The reason why God¡¯s asking us not to worry about anything is that He knows what we need and He knows what He should give for to us, His children. All we need to do is to seek for His provision through our prayer every single moment.
As we begin this New Year, 2020, let us seek for God earnestly for our needs. Prayer should be our primary task as we walk with the Lord for in this year.
¡°Seek for the Kingdom of God, then everything will be given unto you.¡±
