Jesus: Our Kingdom Leader
Hebrews 1 : 2
“but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.”
As we hear the Word of God, let us pause for a moment and realize that Jesus Christ is our kingdom leader. He is alive and guiding the work of advancing the kingdom of God. He is calling out leaders. He is freeing men and women from their sins. He is transforming our lives from day to day. He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us and produce in us the fruit of the Spirit. Some people talk about Jesus as if He is alive today!
The Bible tells us that He has ascended to heaven and now sits in the seat of highest honor! The Bible says of Jesus Christ, our kingdom leader: In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things and through whom He made the universe. He is the radiance of His glory, the exact expression of His nature, and He sustains all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. So He became higher in rank than the angels, just as the name He inherited is superior to theirs (Heb. 1:2–4).
Jesus Christ now is seated in the seat of highest honor in heaven. From that position of authority, He directs the affairs of His eternal kingdom. History is filled with kingdoms that have dominated the world. The Egyptian, Chinese, Greek, and Roman dynasties were great influences on the world at given times in history. But Jesus is king of a kingdom that is eternal, transcultural, and will never end!
The kingdom-focused leader understands that Jesus Christ is the king of the kingdom of God. He has all authority in heaven and earth. Everything that takes place in this world is working together to accomplish His purposes. There are no accidents or events that are not permitted by the Lord of the kingdom. He uses them to accomplish God’s eternal purposes and to advance His kingdom (Rom. 8:28 ).
Keep in mind that Jesus Christ is our kingdom leader. You have the opportunity to show the people with the assurance that you are serving the Lord of the kingdom, who is in control of everything that is taking place in this world. He is not surprised by any event that takes place in this world. No government or event can stop the advancement of the kingdom of God!
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
