The Faith of Inheritance
Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed -- not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence -- continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
¡°Work out your salvation with fear and trembling!¡±
God gave us eternal life when we believed in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He¡¯s not only given us eternal life, but also His Kingdom. In other words, makes us heirs of the Kingdom of God. This is the reason why we are called God¡¯s Sons. God has given us a very special privilege to inherit the Kingdom as His children. What a great privilege we have in Christ.
But even though we are Kingdom heirs, we still live in this dark and sinful world. So Paul urges us to continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling in order to inherit the unshakable and eternal Kingdom. We need to abide in the Lord every moment so as to be blameless and pure since we are living in a crooked and depraved world. We need to seek His Kingdom by living under His Sovereign Reign with absolute surrender to God. As we seek the Kingdom of God first we will inherit eternal blessing from our Heavenly Father.
Every single day, let us serve the One who calls us and gives us the eternal Kingdom. He is our God and our Lord. So we Christians are the most blessed people in the Universe because we have been given the eternal Kingdom of God.
We need to understand who we are in Christ. Once we have been saved by Jesus blood, we need to work out our Kingdom inheritance with fear and trembling by seeking God¡¯s daily rule in our lives. So let us fix our eyes on Jesus who is the alpha and omega! Come, Lord Jesus, our King!
The King¡¯s rule in our lives should be actualized more and more as we practice, as we work out, the King¡¯s will day by day.
It is important to practice the Kingdom principles in our daily lives. We need to live in absolute surrender to our King each day. We should not be hearers of the Word but be doers of the Word and to inherit his abundant reward and blessing here and now
