Romans 14
18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.
19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
He who serves Christ always contemplates how to please God. They¡¯re always trying to be the bridge of peace, working hard to help their neighbors.
Yesterday, I went to Gangneung Gyeongpodae for a picnic for foreign students, hosted by the Mission Partners in Westminster Graduate School of Theology.
There are Muslims, there are Buddhists, and there are atheists. However, I was impressed to see the voluntary service of all those who served in the Mission Partners.
I thought how God would be happy to see the precious services for those who came from foreign countries.
I was happy to see the serving people who practiced a true missional life for the foreign students by giving of their precious time and dedication.
In the presence of the foreign students, each of them silently did their best to serve the foreign students. And I was sure that they would experience the Kingdom of God in which the gates of their hearts would be widely opened.
In their devotion to their neighbors and with their hard work, I rejoiced and saw the little miracle of Shalom.
The message of God¡¯s love flowed into the Muslim brothers and sisters, as they struggled to get rid of all their taboo pork restrictions and order food without being forced to do so.
God is love. Love is acting under Corinthians 13:4. It¡¯s a sacrifice. It is a consideration that changes colors according to the needs of the other person, such as like chameleons, to match their colors. Love is not forced. Love doesn¡¯t even behave rudely. Love is all about patience and long suffering.
There are countless foreign peoples coming into this country. Many of them come from the Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist regions. When you greet them with the service and devotion of the Lord¡¯s love, the door of their hearts will be opened.
Therefore, Christians are the bridge of love, the bridge of peace, the bridge of God, and ultimately the glory of God will be manifested and revealed.
I am so tired that I cannot sleep, but I welcome this dawn with calm emotion and joy as I recall the faces who worked hard to serve foreign students yesterday.
